Design, toolpath and cut. Simpler CAM for your CNC router.
RoutPath is simple 2D and 3D CAM software for hobby and small-shop CNC routers. Draw or import a design, make toolpaths, simulate the cut and export G-code for your GRBL or FluidNC machine.
RoutPath is in closed beta and open to approved beta testers only. Already approved? Open the app.

Simpler than Vectric or Fusion, made for the machine in your shop
Big CAM suites do everything, and you pay for it in menus and setup. RoutPath focuses on the jobs hobbyists, sign makers and small woodshops actually run on GRBL and FluidNC routers.
- The toolpaths you use every day: contour, pocket, V-carve, drill and engrave, plus 3D carving.
- Sensible feeds and speeds out of the box: conservative recommended values for common shop materials.
- See it before you cut it: toolpath overlay in the design view and a full 3D simulation.
- G-code your controller understands: output for GRBL and FluidNC, with proper tool changes.
Everything you need from sketch to G-code
A focused CNC router CAM toolset: V-carve software, 2D toolpaths and 3D carving in one app.
Drawing tools
Shapes, arcs, text with a choice of fonts, and node editing, right on the stock.
Five 2D toolpaths
Contour (inside, outside or on the line), pocket, V-carve, drill and engrave.
Stock to leave + cleanup
Leave material on a roughing pass, then add an optional cleanup pass, including a tool change.
Tool library with feeds & speeds
Per-material values for softwood, hardwood, MDF/ply, acrylic, polycarbonate and aluminum, with conservative recommended defaults.
Per-toolpath overrides
Start from the library values and override them for an individual toolpath when a job needs it.
3D carving
Import STL or OBJ models, or turn an image into a relief, then rough in layers and finish with a ball-nose bit.
Real-time GPU simulation
Watch a smooth 3D cutting simulation of the whole job before a single chip flies.
Toolpath overlay
See toolpaths drawn over your design in the design view, so you always know what will be cut.
Clean G-code for GRBL & FluidNC
Exports G-code with proper tool changes for GRBL and FluidNC machines.
Align, distribute & center
Line shapes up, space them evenly, or center them in the stock from the Arrange menu and toolbar.
Grid & circular arrays
Repeat a shape in rows and columns or around a circle, with a live preview before you create it.
Shape offset
Grow or shrink outlines by a set distance, outward, inward or both, with a live preview.
3D preview
Check the design in 3D, stock, vectors and models, before you make any toolpaths.
Light & dark themes, undo/redo
A comfortable workspace in either theme, with full undo and redo.
Carve in 3D and watch every pass first
Import an STL or OBJ model, or turn an image into a relief. RoutPath roughs it out in layers and finishes with a ball-nose bit. A sample walnut rose plaque is included so you can try it right away.
Then play the whole job in a smooth, real-time 3D cutting simulation that runs on your GPU. Scrub, speed it up, orbit around the part and check the finish before you touch the machine.
- STL / OBJ import or image-to-relief
- Layered roughing plus ball-nose finishing
- Real-time 3D simulation on the GPU

GRBL CAM and FluidNC CAM in one
RoutPath exports G-code for GRBL and FluidNC machines, the controllers behind many hobby and small-shop CNC routers. It is developed and tested on a hobby CNC router.
G-code output for GRBL-based CNC routers, with proper tool changes.
G-code output for FluidNC controllers, with proper tool changes.
A CAM app, not a machine controller
RoutPath designs your job and generates the G-code. It does not connect to your machine, control it or jog it, and it is not a G-code sender.
To run a job, load the G-code file into the controller or sender software you already use, such as gSender, UGS, Candle or the FluidNC web UI. Those are only examples of common senders, not tested integrations or endorsements.
- RoutPath does: drawing, toolpaths, feeds and speeds, simulation and G-code export.
- Your sender does: connecting to the machine, jogging, zeroing and streaming the G-code.
- You stay in charge of machine setup, zeroing and safety, every time you run a job.
